Botox
With time certain expressions (laughter, talking, thinking) form wrinkles and grooves on the face. These form because certain facial nerves are often articulated. Typical examples of expression lines are lines on the forehead, expression lines between the brows, crow’s feet around the eyes, smokers’ wrinkles and the zygomatics.
Botox or botulinetoxine is very popular for the treatment of all sorts of expression lines. It is a botulic that is injected in small doses in the nerves of the face. The nerves are temporarily paralyzed which helps the lines to disappear. This effect is temporary.
Treatment
The treatment is bearable and with little pain. The effect becomes visible about two days after the injection. The final result is visible about fifteen days after the treatment.
The obtained result will last for more or less for four months. Further on a second treatment is advisable. After a few treatments the period between two treatments can be spread over one or two times per year.
Side effects
With a good manipulation technique of injections side effects are minimalized.
At the time of a forehead line treatment with botox a drooping of the eye can appear. The side effect can easily be corrected with the help of eye drops.
